UI/UX Designer

Key Responsibilities and Duties Work with the Product Lead to shape user experience across the HR Duo platform. Design clear, intuitive user journeys for HR, line managers, employees, and administrators. Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity UI designs. Collaborate with product managers and engineers to bring features from concept through to delivery. Help simplify complex HR, workforce management, compliance, and reporting workflows. Gather feedback from internal teams, customers, and end users to inform design decisions. Support usability testing, discovery sessions, and customer research where appropriate. Maintain and improve consistency across the product interface. Contribute to the development of reusable design patterns and a design system. Review implemented features and work with engineers to refine the final user experience. Balance good design practice with commercial, technical, and customer constraints. Key Skills and Competencies We are looking for someone who can combine strong design skills with a practical, user-focused mindset. At least 3 years experience working in a UI, UX, Product Design role with a portfolio of work, ideally for web or SaaS applications. Strong understanding of user-centred design principles with experience creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and interface designs. Ability to take complex processes and make them easier to understand and use. Strong attention to detail in layout, hierarchy, spacing, interaction, and usability. Comfortable working in an agile or iterative software development environment. Good communication skills and the ability to explain design decisions clearly. Desirable experience: Experience with HR, workforce management, payroll, compliance, rostering, or time and attendance software. Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Miro, Jira, Confluence, or similar. Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system. Understanding of accessibility principles and WCAG guidance. Experience designing for mobile or responsive web applications. Experience conducting user interviews, usability testing, or customer research.
